Vito’s By The Water has closed in Windsor, owner Rob Maffucci confirmed Tuesday.

Maffucci decided not to renew his lease at 1936 Blue Hills Avenue Extension due to a rent increase, he said. The restaurant will continue to fulfill obligations for events booked in the month of July, he said. Maffucci said he is now in the process of contacting guests who have booked events in the coming months.

The restaurant, which opened in 2008, offered a water view from a pond on the property. The menu of Italian cuisine featured pizzas, pastas and seafood.

Vito’s Restaurant Group also owns and operates V’s Trattoria and Vito’s To Go Cafe in Hartford, and Vito’s Pizzaria in Wethersfield, all which are open and “doing well,” Maffucci said.
